  • 285g Shrimp (BAP-certified)

  • 1 Lemon

  • 3 Garlic cloves

  • 120g Baby greens (lettuce mix, baby spinach, kale or arugula)

  • 140g Orzo

  • 1g Chili flakes

  • 10g Garlic & Sweet Pepper spices (salt, garlic, sugar, red pepper bell, vinegar powder, yeast extract, green pepper bell, canola oil, paprika, cellulose, turmeric, Cayenne pepper, citric acid)

Spicy Shrimp Al Ajillo - Step #1 Boil the orzo
Step 1: Boil the orzo
  • Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the orzo and boil, 9 to 10 min., until just tender.
  • Drain and rinse.
  • Return to the pot and toss with 2 tbsp butter (double for 4 portions) to prevent sticking.

  • Meanwhile, mince the garlic.
  • Zest and juice the lemon.

Step 3: Cook & coat the shrimp
  • Pat the shrimp dry (remove the shells from the tails if desired); season with the spices and S&P.
  • In a large pan (non-stick if possible), heat a drizzle of oil on medium.
  • Add the garlic and chili flakes (add ½ for medium spicy). Sauté, 30 sec. to 1 min., until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp* and cook, 1 to 2 min. per side, until opaque and cooked through.
  • Off the heat, add ½ the lemon juice; toss well.

  • Tilapia: 2 to 3 min. per side.

Step 4: Make the salad
  • In a medium bowl, whisk the remaining lemon juice, 2 tbsp olive oil (double for 4 portions) and S&P.
  • Add the baby greens; toss well.

  • To the pot of orzo, add ½ the lemon zest; stir well.
  • Divide the orzo between your plates.
  • Top with the shrimp and sauce.
  • Garnish with the remaining lemon zest.
