Mise en place
Preheat the oven to broil. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Halve the zucchini lengthwise; thinly slice. Mince the garlic.

Boil the pasta
Add the pasta to the pot of boiling water; stir gently to separate. Boil, stirring occasionally, 4 to 6 min., until al dente. Reserving 1 cup cooking water, drain and toss with a drizzle of oil to prevent sticking.

Sauté the vegetables
Meanwhile, in a large, high-sided, oven-safe pan, heat a generous drizzle of oil on medium-high. Add the zucchini, ½ the spices and S&P. Sauté, 1 to 2 min., until beginning to soften. Add the spinach and garlic. Sauté, 1 to 2 min., until wilted.

Make the sauce
To the pan of vegetables, add the tomato sauce, 1 cup reserved cooking water, the remaining spices and S&P; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, 3 to 5 min., until thickened.

Make the skillet
To the pan of sauce, add the pasta; stir well. Top with the cheese. Broil, 3 to 5 min., until the cheese is melted and beginning to brown. Let rest for 5 min. before serving.
